RMC Responds: Our Nation in Shock

ImageToday, RMC Responds joins the nation in mourning as we reach out to the victims of the Boston Marathon bombings and take a break from the political whirlwind to pledge our support in healing the wounds caused by this devastating event.

The United States was struck earlier this week by a horrific terrorist attack. The bombings at the Boston Marathon have reminded us that we as Americans must stand together and remain strong to support our loved ones and our communities. Already, stories are spreading across the country of marathon runners who continued running down the street to donate blood to victims of the blasts and of first responders and citizens alike doing everything they could to help.

These acts of senseless violence and terrorism only serve to highlight what a powerful union we share with each other. Republican or Democrat, events such as these affect us all the same, and it is a sign of our strength as Americans that we will continue to support one another in the coming days of this disaster.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, their families, all of our members and friends in Massachusetts, and the entire Boston region. Below are a few charities we have been notified of if you would like to do more to help-out!

OneFundBoston.Org — Immediately after the attacks, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Tom Menino created One Fund Boston to raise money for marathon victims. The site accepts donations via PayPal.

Boston’s First Responders Fund — The Boston Fire Fighters Credit Union is accepting funds. One-hundred percent of the money raised will go to the families and victims of the Boston Marathon explosion.

Boston Children’s Hospital — Proceeds will be directed to the hospital’s Marathon Program and the Emergency and Trauma Fund, which helps kids and families get immediate emergency treatment.
