Texas’ anti-choice Gov. Rick Perry signed a dangerous omnibus abortion regulations bill into law Thursday morning. Pro-choice advocates say they aren’t giving up yet.

A federal judge in Wisconsin Thursday extended his restraining order preventing a strict new anti-choice abortion law from taking effect in in that state. Wisconsin’s law has similarities to a dangerous new law in Ohio, giving some pro-choice advocates hope that the Ohio law won’t stand.

Hours after anti-choice Texas lawmakers finalized some of most extreme abortion restrictions in the country Thursday, state Rep. Phil King (R) filed a so-called “fetal heartbeat bill” to ban abortions as early as six weeks, before many women even know they are pregnant.
This week Texas joined a growing number of anti-choice state legislatures strategically pushing the limits of federal abortion rights that have been in place for 40 years.
