Federal appeals judges on Monday considered the constitutionality of an anti-choice Mississippi law requiring doctors at abortion clinics to have admitting privileges at local hospitals would effectively shut down the state’s only abortion clinic and pose an unconstitutional burden on women seeking abortions.

West Virginia’s state House Speaker said it’s unlikely the anti-choice and likely unconstitutional bill banning abortions in  the state will be taken up in a special legislative session this year.

Houston Chronicle (Houston, TX)
The latest legal challenge to Texas’ sweeping anti-choice restrictions — a lawsuit aimed at blocking a regulation that requires clinics to meet the standards of an outpatient surgical center — will go to trial on August 4.
