Even with the Affordable Care Act’s contraception mandate, a new Kaiser survey found 18 percent of sexually active women don’t have contraceptive coverage. While nearly half of sexually active women use at least one form of contraception, Kaiser found, one in five aren’t using birth control at all.

North Dakota’s attorney general said Wednesday the state was appealing a judge’s ruling that overturned an anti-choice state law banning abortions as soon as a fetal heartbeat can be detected – as early as six weeks into pregnancy.
