The operators of three of Alabama’s five family planning clinics that offer abortions testified Monday they use out-of-town doctors who wouldn’t be able to admit patients to local hospitals as required under a new anti-choice state law aimed at closing all reproductive health clinics that provide the service.

Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has indicated that he may veto an anti-choice bill that would extend the waiting period for a woman seeking an abortion in the state from 24 to 72 hours. This comes in contrast to comments the governor made following the bill’s passage.
