In 2006, the State of Michigan spent $5 million to fund family planning and contraception. In 2013, it was $692,300. And while the state cut funding for women’s health by a devastating 99%, the abortion rate in Michigan’s poorest city soared to three times the state rate.

Anti-choice protestors outside the Planned Parenthood clinic in Manchester, N.H., have led state lawmakers to craft a bill that will create buffer zones outside New Hampshire facilities that perform abortions. The bill currently awaits the Governor’s signature.

A Dallas family planning clinic that provides abortion services is closing following the passing of an anti-choice bill, put into effect in November, that tightened the restrictions on clinics across the state.
