More than four in 10 Americans support the controversial contraception mandate of the federal health care law, which requires nonprofits and businesses to provide birth control even if they have religious objections.

The Archdiocese of Philadelphia filed a federal lawsuit Tuesday challenging the contraception mandate, claiming the church’s religious rights are being violated by its affiliates having to provide contraceptive coverage in their health insurance.

The Virginian-Pilot (Richmond, VA)
A regulatory, evidence-based review of controversial anti-choice regulations is now underway in Virginia by the state’s Health Board. A Northern Virginia family planning clinic has also filed a lawsuit challenging the constitutionality of the regulations.
