A pro-choice Republican-led bill that would have dramatically updated South Carolina’s current abstinence-only sex education law has been stalled and likely killed by an anti-choice senator who placed a procedural hold on the bill.

Tuesday, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit granted a preliminary injunction to Planned Parenthood in their fight against an anti-choice Arizona law. This increases the likelihood that the Supreme Court will revisit consider the constitutional limits on state abortion regulation before the next presidential election.
