Tennessee lawmakers have filed the first bill after Amendment 1 made anti-choice restrictions on reproductive health services much easier to enact. The bill would force women to have a medically unnecessary ultrasound before accessing abortion services. Similar laws have been found unconstitutional and overturned in other states.

A judge in Alabama has dismissed an anti-choice lawsuit that was filed against a family planning clinic in Huntsville, AL, allowing the clinic to keep regular services available.

The Northwest Georgia News (Rome, GA)
Lawmakers in a Georgia town who outlawed abortion within their city limits are reworking the rule after it was deemed a violation of Roe v. Wade, the U.S. Supreme Court decision protecting women’s right to access all reproductive health services including abortion.
