KCUR News (Kansas City, KS)
Rural Kansas has higher teen pregnancy rates than most of the country, and this number is three times higher in the Latino or Hispanic communities. These high teen birth rates pose obstacles to economic advancement for families.

WXII News (Raleigh, NC)
The North Carolina Senate voted early Wednesday to accept a House version of a bill that would broaden expert qualifications behind curriculum that middle-school teachers could use for sex education. The bill now heading to Gov. Pat McCrory also would require sex education to include instruction on the dangers of sex trafficking and adjusts qualifications for counseling licenses.

A Nevada School Board has been embroiled in a controversy over sex ed for a year, but no other issue has been as controversial as the state’s current opt-in laws, which came under attack in a community forum this week.
