Outgoing House Speaker John Boehner (R-OH) on Friday announced his picks for the new Select Investigative Panel that will probe the practices of reproductive health care providers like Planned Parenthood, after a prolonged debate this Summer about fetal tissue donation.

The National Abortion Federation is demanding an investigation into unedited Planned Parenthood videos that were leaked this week, in violation of the group’s court order protecting the footage.

Three days after Texas Governor Greg Abbott announced his decision to end Medicaid funding for Planned Parenthood, state health department investigators showed up with orders for the clinic network to turn over thousands of pages of documents, including patients’ records and employees’ home addresses and telephone numbers. Some, but not all, of the extensive records sought by the state related specifically to abortion.
