In year another bizarre and misguided effort, anti-choice activists have recently targeted Bank of America matching employee donations to Planned Parenthood. It is the Bank’s policy to match employee donations to any recognized non-profit organizations. Now, big-government activistis want to dictate where Americans make donations using their own money. Of Bank of America’s 284,000 employees, fewer than 50 donated to Planned Parenthood in 2015.

According to Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), language regarding defunding Planned Parenthood will remain in the ObamaCare repeal package. Senate Republicans hoped to vote on the Affordable Care Act repeal bill this week, but have faced difficulty securing enough votes from many common-sense, mainstream leaders who disagree with the included Planned Parenthood language.

Though the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to hear a challenge to a Texas abortion case with lofty restrictions will determine the state’s fate when it comes to reproductive healthcare, the potential effects of the ruling will permeate past Texas’s borders. If the Texas bill is ruled constitutional, reproductive healthcare availability throughout the American south and mid-west will face a sharp decline, as previously-attempted restrictions in these areas were blocked by lower courts.
